The Bhutan trip gets going with a brief visit to Tashichho Dzong and National Memorial Chorten in Thimphu. Likewise, Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang are the major attractions in Punakha. As you return to Paro, enjoy a short hike to the popular Tiger’s Nest (Paro Taktsang) in the cliffside. The golden rooftops, detailed architecture of the monastery and serene atmosphere often leave the visitors in awe.

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best times to visit Bhutan with pleasant weather, clear mountain views and festive atmosphere. The temperature ranges between 10°C to 25°C, which is ideal for hiking and other outdoor activities. The blooming rhododendrons make the hills come alive in full glory. 

Summer (June to August) and Winter (December to February) are ideal for those who prefer more peaceful and less-crowded adventure. The temperature ranges from 15°C to 30°C during the Summer with lush green landscapes. However, be prepared for the rainfall during that time of the year. Day to Day Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival at Paro and Drive to Thimpu

    Upon your arrival at the Paro International airport, our office representative will welcome you. Take a short drive of around 1.5 hours to Thimphu through beautiful scenery and mountain view. Cherish the ancient culture and tradition visiting Tashichho Dzong, a sacred Buddhist monastery. After that, explore the National Memorial Chorten. It is a historic stupa built in 1974 in memory of Bhutan’s third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Make the most of the time strolling around the city in the evening. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

  • Day 2 Drive to Punakha

    The day begins with a scenic drive to Punakha, crossing the Dochula Pass. Visiting Punakha Dzong is the major highlight of the day. Located between the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu (also known as the male and female river), Punakha Dzong is the second oldest dzong in Bhutan. This iconic palace becomes the center of attraction among the visitors since it was built by the unifier of Bhutan, spiritual leader Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in 1937. Then, take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang to receive blessings from the monk. It is a Buddhist monastery widely known as the temple of fertility. Overnight at hotel in Punakha,

  • Day 3 Drive back to Paro

    After exploring the major sites of Punakha, drive back to Paro via Thimphu. On the way back, stop at Hontsho village, which is a home to the community of Tibetan refugees. Walk around the village to learn about the community, their way of living, and more. Continue driving to Paro with a few scenic stops along the route in-between. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

  • Day 4 Full-Day Sightseeing in Paro

    After early breakfast, embark on a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery also known as The Tiger’s Nest. Located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley, the hike takes around 4 hours. The sacred Buddhist site carries a huge historical significance as Guru Rinpoche is believed to have meditated here in the 8th century. Later in the afternoon, visit Kyichu Lhakhang - one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Then explore the National Museum of Bhutan to discover the rich history and culture of this beautiful Buddhist country. Cap off your day with an authentic Bhutanese dinner.
