Everest Base Camp Trek Map Route
The glorious Everest Camp Trek gets underway in Kathmandu with a scenic Lukla flight. Lukla comes on a 30-minute flight from Kathmandu. The actual trekking map progresses from here in Lukla. On the first day, upon landing in Lukla, we will walk toward Phakding.
The next day, Namche Bazaar will be our destination. We will follow the scenic trail to reach Namche Bazaar in the evening. We will rest in Namche Bazaar for one day for acclimatization. The following day, we will walk to Tengboche.
Similarly, we will traverse to Dingboche and spend another acclimatization day.
The next morning, we will ascend gradually towards Lobuche, where our day’s walk will end. Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp are the following destinations after Lobuche’s night.
After visiting Everest Base Camp from Gorakshep, the map will embark toward Kala Patthar. The journey will reach Pheriche on the same day. The next morning, we will leave Pheriche for Namche.
Following another Namche night, we will progress toward Lukla. And finally, early in the day, we will do a Kathmandu flight from Lukla to finish the Everest Base Camp Trek Route.

Day-to-day itinerary of Everest Base Camp Trek Map
Day 01: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding(2,610m)
Flight Duration: 30 minutes
Trek Duration: 3-4 hours
Overnight at: Phakding(2,610m)
In the morning, we will head toward Kathmandu Airport’s domestic terminal. From here, we will take a 30-minute exciting flight to Lukla Airport, one of the most famous airports in the world.
The magic of the Everest Region will start unraveling as we land in Lukla. We will spend some time in Lukla before we start our trek. Once it is all ready, we will be off to Phakding, our destination for the day. Our walk will begin with a descent to the Dudh Koshi River. It is a short walking day to Phakding. Without gaining altitude, crossing several suspension bridges, and passing some villages, we will arrive in Phakding. We will spend the night in a teahouse.
Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namche(3,440m)

Opening our eyes in Phakding’s teahouse, we will prepare to leave the place for Namche. Our morning breakfast will pace us as we approach Dudh Koshi River. Throughout the day, we will cross many prayer flag-dotted suspension bridges. We will also enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo as we move further.
After that entrance, we will see ourselves walking through lush trees of Pines and Rhododendrons. If lucky, we will see some wild animals near our trail. As we continue walking, we will also catch the first glimpses of peaks, including Mt Everest. We will do an uphill hike throughout the day.
One final uphill walk from the Tenzing Hillary Suspension bridge will take us to Namche Bazaar. The first actual trekking day of the trek will end with a lovely time in the town.
Day 03: Acclimatization Day at Namche
The following day, we will wake up in Namche to stay in Namche. Yes, we will spend a full free day in and around Namche to acclimatize. It is a crucial day as our body will get adequate time to get used to the place.
On this day, we will explore Namche Bazaar and some nearby attractions. While we do that, our bodies will acclimatize to new altitudes and places. A morning Everest View Hotel hike for brunch is the best option for the day. However, we can explore Khumjung and Khunde villages or Namche Bazaar only. We will have an excellent time doing any of these things. Eventually, we will return to Namche Bazaar in the afternoon and rest overnight.
Day 04: Trek from Namche to Tengboche(3,874m)

Now we’ll be on our way to Tengboche, which goes from the top of Namche. Using the route, we slowly climb to leave Namche and join a flat trail in the morning.
The mountains will slowly become more and more visible. We can catch peaks like Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and such. We will be walking on the cliff above the Dudh Koshi River throughout the walk.
Shortly, we’ll descend as we make a downhill walk that will bring us to the riverbed of the river. We will cross another suspension bridge and begin an uphill climb. Following several hours of upward hike, we will arrive in Tengboche Village. We will have a good time around the Tengboche Monastery—the night in a teahouse.
Day 05: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche(4,400m)

Today we will be walking to Dingboche. We will pass via chortens, mani walls, and some Sherpa villages. In between, we will catch breathtaking vistas of Ama Dablam and other peaks. The trail is scenic but demanding as we’ll cross the 4000m mark.
Not rushing hard, we will keep ourselves moving. Our journey will reach Pangboche and Somare villages before Dingboche. As we move higher, the landscapes will change. We will see fewer trees around us and more peaks. Finally, It will be a great evening in Dingboche after a picturesque walk through the region's woods, villages, and farm fields.
Day 06: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche(4,400m)
We’ve already topped 4,000m in several days. Thus, it is time to take another acclimatization day in Dingboche. We will spend a free day around Dingboche to acclimatize nicely.
Like the first acclimatization day, we will do short hikes. We will have two significant options: Nagarshan Hill or Chhukung Valley. Both of the alternatives have panoramic mountains and enticing landscapes. After spending the day well, we will retrace to Dingboche by lunchtime.
Day 07: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche(4,930m)
Trek Duration: 5 hours

Post our breakfast, we will join the trail again. The walk will commence with a mild climb above Pheriche. We will pass via the upper side of the valley, crossing alpine scrub grasslands and pastures. In the front backdrop, we will have Tabuche and Lobuche peaks. Whereas, on the back, we’ll catch teasing Ama Dablam.
Moving ahead, we will see ourselves moving alongside the ending point of Khumbu Glacier. We will climb above Thukla hills and find a memorial site for perished climbers. We will grab the fantastic sights of Nuptse, Lhotse, and other peaks from the same elevation. After that view, we will begin again to finish the trek in Lobuche, a village in the lap of mountains.
Day 08: Trek to Gorakshep and exploration hike to Everest Base Camp(5,364m)
Trek Duration: 7-8 hours
Overnight at: Gorakshep(5.180m)
It is a long day on the Everest Base Camp Trek Map. We must reach Goraskhep, then move to Everest Base Camp, and back to Gorakhshep. Thus, we will leave Lobuche in the early morning. Our walk will begin by moving through the lateral moraines of Khumbu Glacier. Until we reach Gorakshep, we will have a similar trail to walk.
In several hours of watchful walking, we will reach Gorakshep. We will take lunch there and keep our belongings in a teahouse. Then with a recharged body, we will head freely with no backpack to Everest Base Camp. The walk will happen on the sides of Khumbu Glacier. Shortly, we will see us in the famous Everest Base Camp area.
We will enjoy the grand moment by sharing congratulations and taking pictures. It is a sheer time to celebrate all the hurdles we overcame. Next, we will take the same road to get back to Gorakshep for a joyous evening.
Day 09: Hike to Kalapatthar(5,545m) and Trek down to Pheriche(4,200m)

It is an extra special day of the trek. We will wake up before the day breaks and hike to Kala Patthar. Upon reaching Kala Patthar, we will experience sublime sunrise and mountain panorama. Kala Patthar is the best place to watch Mt Everest. Standing at the famous landmark, we will treasure the moment in our memories.
Then we’ll trace back to Gorak Shep for breakfast. After breakfast, we will leave Gorak Shep to walk to Pheriche, our day’s endpoint. The downhill trek will take only 3 hours. By the end of the walk, we will be in Pheriche, a small village in the foothills of Tabuhce peak.
Day 10: Trek back to Namche Bazar(3,440m)

A gorgeous morning in Pheriche will end when we prepare for the Namche Bazaar trek. The walk will happen on the trail that we used earlier. Still, we will have an exciting time on the trail as the good sights repeat. In the pursuit of Namche Bazaar, we will cross Tengboche and other places.
The trail is mostly downhill. However, we will walk several uphills as well. The mingle of uphills and downhills makes the day a long one. We will have an excellent day of trekking to see Namche Bazaar arrive. Our day will end in Namche with some celebration.
Day 11: Trek back to Lukla(2,850m)

It is the final day of trekking on the Everest Base Camp Trek map. We will take a tasty breakfast and join the trail. We will begin the walk by descending to Dudh Koshi River. Those suspension bridges of the trek's first few days will come again.
Furthermore, en route, we will meet many incoming trekkers with whom we will share our experiences briefly. In this way, we will return to Lukla by retracing Dudh Koshi River, Monjo, and Phakding. We will have an enjoyable time in Lukla after completing the whole trek successfully. It will be a time to reflect on all the good things we had on the Everest Base Camp Trek map.
Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu(1,400m)
Flight Duration: 30 minutes

We will pick up our backpacks and take a Kathmandu flight the following day. It is where we finally leave the region following a dozen days. The flight will give us a scenic ending to the trek. Then we will make a safe landing in Kathmandu shortly. We will finally return to our hotel to complete the trip upon landing. We will congratulate each other and post things on our social media.
