Months of spring (March, April and May) and autumn (September, October and November) are preferably the most appropriate period for the EBC Trek. The weather factors are calm during this period and you don’t have to worry about weather phenomenon-related challenges during these periods.
Similarly, the trekking trails are much more comfortable and each of the seasons has its own natural highlight. So, for a seamless experience moving along with the Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary, you should definitely consider doing this trek during one of these periods.
However, it's not like that you can’t do this trek during other seasons. The low traveling seasons in Nepal, like monsoon (June, July and August) and winter (December, January and February), are known for their weather challenges.
So, if you are considering your Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary for one of these seasons, you will need to consider the weather-related challenges as well.
Esssential Trekking Tips
There is more to this high-altitude exploration than just planning a memorable day by day Everest Base Camp Trek plan. So, here are a few of the things that you have to be prepared for if you want to make your journey remarkable and comfortable to every bit.
Packing Tips
If this is your first-ever high-altitude exploration in Nepal, it is important for you to understand the climatic variation. Yes, there are a total of five climatic zones that you will experience during this Himalayan endeavor, starting from the sub-tropical atmosphere (below 2,000 meters) to crossing all the way upto the tundra zone (above 5,000 meters).
Thus, you need to be better prepared regarding this climatic variation factor. Wear comfortable, flexible clothing at the lower points and bring layers to keep yourself warm and comfortable at the higher altitudes.
Beyond proper layers, gears like trekking pole, sleeping bag, waste bag, power bank, map, GPS, rain covers, backpack, waterbottle, etc can be quite helpful to make the journey more immersive. Similarly, don’t forget to pack your personal hygiene products and small first aid kit with basic medications.
Note: As for buying snacks and energy bars for your trek, buy them at Kathmandu, the prices may not be fair on the mountain.
